Pick Your Shed Style
Picking the right style isn’t just about looks; it’s about how you’ll use the space and how it sits in your yard. Think about access (front vs. side door), headroom or a loft, where rain and snow will shed, and how closely you want the shed to match your home. A good fit means fewer compromises, easier organizing, and a build that feels “meant” for your property.

Gable Sheds
Gable is widely cited as the most common/versatile shed roof—simple to build, matches most homes. Classic pitched roof that’s easy to frame, sheds weather well, and matches most houses. It’s a great “default” choice for storage or light shop work.
Garden “Side Door” Sheds
Garden “Side-Door” is essentially a gable box with side access; it’s very common in suburban yards where shelving lines the long wall. A gable box with the door on the long wall; fast access to shelves and yard tools without walking past everything to reach the back.

Barn (Gambrel) Sheds
Barn (Gambrel) is popular for added headroom, loft potential but usually trails gable in volume. Dual-slope “barn” roof adds vertical space for racks or a small loft without growing the footprint; ideal when you need headroom.
Office / Studio Sheds
Office/Studio Modern Shed is trending, but still a smaller niche vs. traditional roofs in mass retail. It’s modern, clean, simplified roofline with window options. It’s best when style is a priority or you’re aiming for studio vibes.

Lean-To Sheds
Lean-To is beloved for tight spaces and fence lines, but it’s a situational pick rather than the default. It’s great when space is constrained. The Lean-To Shed is a single-slope roof that tucks along a fence or garage and perfect for narrow side yards and modern, low-profile looks.
